Dad

From fun to finding
And lumps to logic
You do your best
To do for me

Silent but strong
You lead me in such
Though lessons not told
You have taught me much

Memories of fun
And trials, and trains
A name of strength
You have given and taught

So I take such gifts
And teach them to more
Onto children I pass
Such examples I've had

These days I treasure
My heart holds strong
Steadfast I face much
Such love may I pass on

And one day I hope
You are there strong still
To teach your grandsons,
Granddaughters and still

For I love you now
And I loved you then
Yet for days to come
Say the same I surely will
