one step too many
A sunset has been wasted. Another Dawn is yet to be wasted. He came around the corner with the knife. She had been foolish enough to trust him. Consciously, he had never meant to mess things up as was always the case. One false step, one wrong time, he erred too much.

He is found kneeling, crying, each tear falling from clear to red, life to death, happiness to desolation. Demise is surely to follow upon him in these hours, left alone to consider what has passed, an empty room to return to, a useless future to face.
